Terms of Service
Last Updated: February 15, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the website https://flatfeemovers.net and the moving services provided by Flat Fee Moving LLC (“Flat Fee Movers,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using our website or services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our website or services.
1. Services
Flat Fee Movers provides residential and commercial moving services in Sarasota, Bradenton, and surrounding communities across Southwest Florida. Our services include local moving, long distance moving, commercial moving, piano moving, packing services, moving and storage, senior moving, moving labor, moving supplies, last minute moving, apartment moving, specialty moving, international moving, and student moving. The specific services included in your move are outlined in your moving agreement and flat fee quote.
2. Flat Fee Pricing and Payment
All moves are quoted at a flat fee. The quoted price is the price you pay. We do not charge hourly rates and do not add hidden fees after the quote is accepted. Your flat fee includes:
- Loading, transport, and unloading of your belongings
- Furniture wrapping in clean moving blankets and shrink wrap
- Floor and doorway protection at both locations
- Stair fees (all flights included)
- Fuel surcharge (included in the flat fee)
- Furniture disassembly and reassembly
- TV, mirror, and electronics wrapping
Payment terms: Payment is due on moving day after the job is completed. We accept cash, check, and major credit cards. No deposit is required for most local moves. If a deposit is required (long distance or specialty moves), it will be communicated in writing before you accept the quote.
3. Quote Accuracy
Your flat fee quote is based on the information you provide about your move: home size, destination, number of items, specialty items, stairs, and access conditions. If the actual scope of the move differs significantly from what was described (for example, a 2-bedroom move turns out to be a 4-bedroom move with a full garage), we reserve the right to adjust the quote before beginning the job. Any adjustment will be communicated to you verbally and in writing before work starts. You have the right to cancel the move at that point with no charge.
4. Scheduling and Cancellation
Scheduling: Moves are scheduled by phone or through our online quote request form. We confirm your move date, estimated arrival time, and flat fee price in writing (email or text).
Cancellation by you: You may cancel or reschedule your move at any time before moving day at no charge. We ask for at least 48 hours notice when possible so we can offer the time slot to another customer.
Cancellation by us: We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a move due to severe weather (hurricanes, tropical storms, flooding), unsafe road conditions, or circumstances beyond our control. If we cancel, you will not be charged and we will reschedule at no additional cost.
5. Liability and Insurance
Flat Fee Movers is fully licensed, bonded, and insured in the state of Florida. We carry general liability insurance and cargo insurance to protect your belongings during every move.
Standard coverage: Under federal regulations (49 CFR Part 375 for interstate moves) and Florida statutes for intrastate moves, movers provide basic valuation coverage at $0.60 per pound per article. This is the default coverage unless you purchase additional protection.
Full Value Protection: Full replacement value coverage is available for an additional fee. Details and pricing are provided in your moving agreement before your move date.
Damage claims: If any item is damaged during your move, notify the crew immediately and contact our office within 72 hours. We will inspect the damage and resolve the claim per the coverage level in your moving agreement. Our Damage-Free Guarantee means we take every precaution to prevent damage -- every item is wrapped, every floor is protected, every doorway is padded.
6. Customer Responsibilities
To ensure a successful move, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your home, belongings, and destination when requesting a quote
- Disclose any specialty items (pianos, safes, hot tubs, pool tables, antiques) before the move
- Disclose stair count, elevator availability, and access restrictions at both locations
- Secure or transport the following items yourself: medications, passports, important documents, cash, jewelry, firearms (must be declared, unloaded, and legally transported), hazardous materials, perishable food, plants, and pets
- Provide clear access to your home on moving day (remove obstacles from hallways, driveways, and entryways)
- Be present (or have an authorized representative present) at both the pickup and delivery locations
- Notify us of HOA or building move-in requirements, gate codes, elevator reservations, and parking restrictions
7. Prohibited Items
Flat Fee Movers cannot transport the following items:
- Hazardous materials (gasoline, propane, paint thinner, bleach, acids, explosives, fireworks)
- Perishable food that requires refrigeration
- Live plants (may be transported at your own risk)
- Pets or animals
- Loaded firearms or ammunition (firearms must be unloaded and declared)
- Illegal substances
If prohibited items are found during loading, our crew will set them aside for you to transport separately.
8. Storage Services
If your move includes short-term or long-term storage, your belongings will be stored in a secure facility. Storage terms, pricing, and access details are outlined in a separate storage agreement. Flat Fee Movers is not responsible for damage caused by acts of nature (flooding, hurricanes, fire) to stored items beyond our standard coverage.
